An excellent country pub in a lovely rural setting and yet so close to Cardiff. Four of us went for Sunday lunch earlier today and had a thoroughly good time. We started with the main course (choice of four meats)and it was supurb with helpings to satisfy the heartiest of appetites; the quality was commendable. The wide sweet selection (if you have enough room!) was great - I settled for the apple pie and custard which was a delight and very well presented. The staff were friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. We would unhesitatingly recommend the Sportsmans to anyone - they would not be disappointed!
