The Maltman is what you would call a really decent & traditional pub. A John Barras pub it is situated in the City centre near the shops, cinemas etc and attracts a mixed crowd during the day and at night either popping in for a pint, a coffee or a meal. Decor is pretty basic (homely I suppose) patterend carpet , tables, pictures on the walls etc. Beer and spirits selection is good (the ususal supsects) & food is good bar grub and well priced. Clientele is pretty mixed 18- 80 - Friday and Saturday nights theres a 70s - 80s+ dico with pretty good music but it fair fills up with amerous 40 plus year old on reaking of old spice and on the pull (well thats what I do anyway!)- A good harmeless pub for a bite to eat, a boogie or a meal after shopping - worth a visit.
