I've lived in Glasgow all my life and have come to know the East End fairly well. It's certainly not the most celubrious of areas and isn't one I would normally choose to drink in but The Whistlin' Kirk offers a refreshing alternative to the area. The clientele are friendly and welcoming and there is a real sense of community about the place. The bar staff are chatty and helpful and seem to know almost all of their customers names, not to mention their marital problems and other woes.

A gem of a pub!!!
