Flares York is a fantastic bar. The atmosphere is great; everyone is having fun. All the songs that you thought you'd forgotten the words to get played in Flares - and you can't help but get on the dancefloor. it's impossible to embarrass yourself in Flares because it's so laid back. The bar staff are amazing - really friendly, quick service and they even dance! You can buy cheap but cool 70s merchandise from behind the bar, including things like afro wigs, light-up microphones and even moustaches! (Perfect for Facebook photos!!) Also, Fridays now have a 'Charlie's Angels' theme where there are 'missions' with prizes (including free alcohol! and for free entry...you can't go wrong!). Flares also does some great cocktails and cheap drinks. The DJs are also really good. Flares is possibly my favourite bar in York - great staff, cheap drinks and fantastic atmosphere! i'd definitely recommend it.
