I would recommend you start in Barcchanalia, I used to work with the manager there when I worked at Matt n Phreds Jazz club he is really nice so there is a good atmosphere. There are 2 places next door that are really good ones called the Grinch and I'm not sure what the one on the other side is called. Also just down the road there is a pub called Sam's Chop house it's a nice place to relax and watch all the old cigar type smoking men interacting around you, worth a visit even just for one if it's not usually your kinda thing. There is another place called All Bar One which is to the rite of no. 2 where it has King St (larger one) written on the map. This is quite a buzzing place where all the top earning suits go to unwind after hard graft on Fountain Street. Don't be afraid when I say suits you'll be surprised how much they let their hair down. That is a little out of the way but only by a couple of minutes. After this you want to make your way to St Anns Sq where no. 3 Corbieres is well worth a visit. This place will give you a taste of the real Manchester music culture with quotes on the wall from band that have been there praising the duke box that you must have a look at everyone has a "real" band that they love i.e. the rolling stones, Guns & roses etc and this caters for all. It is a little hard to find tho as it's located down a back ally opposite either Starbucks or Frankie and bennies. After this you want to head down to Deansgate where you'll find Label, RSVP and a few other places all lined up for you. Again have a wonder I have just marked Label for a point of reference but I also think it is the best place there. If you are feeling hungry at this point there are also some great places to eat. If you move south on the map (down deansgate) on the corner at the first road you come to there is a great place for eating, I'm afraid I forget what it's called. Where it say's Soutgate on the map there is also a Revolution where it get' a bit more lively so you can get the shots in and have a go on the dance floor. If you then decide you want to stay out longer where it's made for dancing then prohibition is just outside (where the arrow points right above southgate, you will have walked past it to get to Revolution) This place is one of the top nightclubs to go in manchester with it's comfy booth seating and elegant drapes. If you want to stay up even later and visit a club where all the bar staff go after there shifts are over there is a club called Mojo (no. 5). This place is a little more dingy but you get to mingle with all the cool bar cats once their working day is over. ENJOY! X
