ceno restaurant is second to none in southampton i have frequented this establishment often in the last 4 years with friends and family, the atmosphere is great any time of the day or night, the food is great and the staff friendly. I haven't yet found a restaurant in southampton up to the same standard i'm not sure there is one and as for the prices if the 2 of us can get 3 courses and coffee for less than £60 im in and a great kids menu for the little one i would definatly recommend ceno to everyone and will carry on to return thank

The website says 'Drink...Dine...Unwind' you wont in this restaurant

I went with my girlfriend with high expectations of this venue and was to be very disappointed. The venue is small and they have crammed far too many tables into the space which resulted in constant disturbances (being knocked and banged around) and the feeling that you are actually dining with the people on the table next to you! The food was innovative but poor, my girlfriend was served very dry roast chicken and my lamb was overcooked. We actually got up and left half way through our main course and the manager simply did not care. If you are thinking of going here – don’t. Go to the Mitre pub across the road, 2 meals for £8 and the drinks are half the price. You’ll have a much better evening!

I agree with the comments that its a little noisy, we all ended up shouting across the tables and it does become tiring . However the food was very good, it is not cheap but it was put together very well and generally the portions are reasonable. One complaint the salmon was very disappointing tasted Ok but what a small portion, less than three mouthful - come on! Lamb was better and so was the cod. Desserts were ok too. So not a place to go if you are hungry , but if you enjoy good food which is cooked well and will get to your taste buds then i would recommend.

I've eaten in Ceno three times but now really like to feel I won't go again. It's a shame because the food really is very good and the environment and service up to a good standard but,Oh...,the excessive noise!! Right from the start the music is so loud it isn't possible to hear anybody speak on one's table as everybody in the restaurant is shouting to make themselves heard above the uneccessary music throughout the evening. When the evening draws near the end the staff turn up the music a little louder until people seem to give up trying to communicate.
