I used to go to the Brook all the time. It had a pool table on the ceiling, a statue of a woman like in US bars of the 60s, a great pub quiz and the hottest chef who then turned barman named Danny... I loved it so much... The landlady Katie always knew what we wanted when we went in. Then it got gutted like every other pub in Cambridge in about 2002, made open plan, turned into a "pizzeria" from the amazing pub food... and now it's anasty sports bar type place. If only for a return of the old days! And Danny, I think of you every day...!
