enjoyed many a good night in Yates's, unfortunately this was spoiled on saturday night (30th June 2009), by the aggressive and rude doorman, called me all the names under the sun, for no reason whatsoever, and wouldnt let me back into the place, hence splitting me up from my friends, i am 46 years old, and certainly looking for no trouble, when he advised me "women like me make him sick, only go out on sat nights looking for trouble, and he can give me as good as he gets"!!!!! hardly the case since spent last 12 months recovering from major operation, very aggressive and rude man, certainly we wont be going in again, and i ask myslef would he had said the same to a male!!!!!!!

Great city centre bar. The cocktail menu is small and though could, by some, be considered unadventurous is very well delivered (very fresh mint in my mojito). The beer garden is by city centre standards absolutely amazing!!! Warm, sheltered AND table service at good times! Great for a quick bite to eat, pre-dancing drinks or dancing if you can't be bothered to move to somewhere you have to pay entrance for.
