I go in this pub 3/4 a week, it's a bit like an estate pub, friendly staff, sensibly priced ales, cheaper than the Acomb WMC up the road.

New manager been in a few months, seem to have settled in ok.

It's on a the No.1 bus route, buses pass every 10/15 mins.

Could do with being a bit warmer in winter, all in all it gets a 7/10 from me.

Have,nt been in for a few months , but oh my god what a difference .... The place is Filthy, we sat at a table that i could scrape the dirt off, the Ladies toilets were Filthy , and smelled of urine . :(. The Landlord and Lady stashed their drinks on a near table and under the side of the bar . Classy ...Will not be going there again . Will be makeing a report :( ....

I just want to say one thing. If the seating area outside was not at the front of the pub then the noise that comes from the seated areas at the front, from smokers mainly who are not allowed to have a cigarette in the pub in the first place, then I would have no qualms about this pub. As a pub it is as good as any, but from the perspective of a neighbour living in earshot, it is distinctly not good at kicking out time and this lady is rapidly getting to the point where she will be phoning the Police if it continues.

The Marcia Grey is one of the key parts of acomb. Bar staff pull a brillant pint for you after a long day at work, and the company of the cheerful locals make The Marcia Grey a wonderful place to be. Overall, it is a great place to chill out and relax.

PUB LOOKS GREAT AFTER NEW DECOR RECENTLY.LANDLADY IS CHEERFUL AND GSOH OUTSIDE LOOKS GOOD FLOWERS DECKING AND I NOTICED THE FLAGS ARE4 UP

spent time here during xmas great atmospere fantastic now its had a paint job love the big tables and chairs and its warm in there staff fab will call again when next in york even on face book just needs more pics

Since The Marcia opened the atmosphere has been fantastic. The clean surroundings and lack of noising music lend towards a pleasurable evening drinking and engaging in conversation. The staff are very friendly and always welcome you. The addition of the decking at the back is a bonus during the hot summer nights.
