Visited the red lion last Wednesday, and wow, So glad I did! The staff are amazing, very attentive, and clearly enjoy their jobs! The decor is stunning! It creates a classy and relaxed atmosphere. It was nice to see a mixture of relaxed students and professionals enjoying an evening along side each other, the atmosphere clearly suits all! They were having a steak night, and had at least four delicious looking steaks on their specials menu (I could have tried them all) and despite having other arrangements, decided was so tempted, we stayed here instead! The food was faultless, and considering the quality, excellent value for money!

Whilst here I noticed they do reduced bubbly on a Thursday, moet & chandon, £25 per bottle??? We obviously came back the following evening!!! I loved having a bottle of bubbly their beautiful beer garden!

Amazing! Easily the best pub in Oxford, the only shame is they don't do beds....I could spend everyday here!

The Red Lion has been totally transformed around 3 months ago , in essence still a pub much more focus on food and service than before. ! Inside the decor is stylish and up to date with what city centre Oxford needs! They do serve local ales and if you want a table over the weekend best to book as they do get full quickly. Overall great pub , right location with a massive beer garden.

The beer was good, the bar staff were... distracted (they served the person nearest to the person they just gave the changed to, rather than working out who had been waiting next), but the bouncers were decidedly hostile. Non-friendly in the early part of the evening, they wouldn't listen to reason when chucking out time came, whereby my mate had 1 mouthful of beer left at 11:15 on a Thursday evening, but they wouldn't let him finish it, so they man-handled him out (despite the fact we're both well into our 40's).

Ok as long as you leave before they chuck you out.
